هدفت الدراسة إلى تعريف مفهوم النفي ودلالته للجملة الفعلية من خلال الأداة "لن" والمستخدمة في نفي الحال والمستقبل في الثلاثية لنجيب محفوظ , والتوصل إلى كشف العلاقة بين تركيب جملة النفي ودلالتها, والمساعدة على فهم أشمل وأعمق لدلالة النفي بـ "لن" في الثلاثية, وقد أثبت استقصاء الباحث أن لن ” تدخل في الفعل المضارع ، وتدل على نفي المستقبل.
وجاءت متنوعة الشكل و الدلالة باعتمادها على العلاقات النحوية وذلك من خلال السياق .

The study aimed to define the concept of negation and its significance for the verbal sentence through the tool “will not,” which is used to negate the present and the future in Naguib Mahfouz’s trilogy, and to uncover the relationship between the structure of the negation sentence and its significance, and to help in a more comprehensive and deeper understanding of the significance of negation with “will not” in the trilogy. The researcher’s investigation proved that “lān” enters into the present tense, and indicates the negation of the future.
It varied in form and meaning by relying on grammatical relationships through context
